JJ has worked in the theatre industry for over 20 years. He brings a rare combination of traditional carpentry training from his time working in the building trade/joinery workshops as well as drama school training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and gaining valuable skills from his early days at the Theatre Royal Bath. He went on to tour with Cameron Mackintosh and the National Theatre before spending a decade with Deadline Technical Management, where he gained deep industry insight into how agencies for production carpenters can operate. This inspired JJ and in 2023 he co‑founded Datum. Some of his more recent credits under Datum include the UK’s largest productions such as Starlight Express, Miss Saigon, War Horse, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Hadestown, and has contributed to hundreds of shows across the West End, the UK and internationally during his career. His mission is to champion the role of the Production Carpenter and strengthen industry infrastructure. JJ has worked in most scenic workshops across the UK, building long‑standing relationships that complement his technical expertise with trusted industry connections. These relationships enable Datum Hub to collaborate effectively with workshops, including those lacking CNC capability, by offering them the opportunity to outsource and expand their services through Datum. His leadership, industry knowledge, and commitment to leaving production carpentry, and the wider industry, in a stronger position than he found it make him a cornerstone of Datum Hub’s vision.

Oliver has worked extensively in the theatre industry combining hands‑on carpentry expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. An accomplished Production Carpenter, he has overseen major West End and touring productions including Mrs. Doubtfire, & Juliet, Life of Pi, Bat Out of Hell, Back to the Future and Just For One Day. In 2021 he began working in Production Management with Simon Marlow, delivering complex installations where his AutoCAD proficiency has been central to planning and executing challenging builds under pressure. In 2023, Oliver co‑founded Datum, supplying Production Carpenters to the West End, UK, and international touring productions. His ability to thrive in high‑pressure environments, manage large teams, and deliver productions safely and on time makes him a key figure in Datum Hub’s approach to supporting the full lifecycle of theatrical and live event projects. In addition, Oliver’s experience as a Production Manager gives him a detailed awareness of production budgets and the practicalities of sourcing builds and delivering. This insight enables him to identify opportunities and align Datum Hub’s services with the needs of producers and production companies, strengthening the pipeline of work while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and responsibly.
